Aspire was started in 2019 by David Kobis to advise hospitals, health systems and providers faced with operational, financial, and interim leadership challenges. Mr. Kobis has more than 30 years of experience as a hospital and health care executive and specializes in operational and strategic transformations of acute, ambulatory, and post-acute organizations. He has served in roles as a hospital CEO, President, COO, Chief Integration Officer, Vice President, and management consultant, among others. Mr. Kobis has broad experience in the healthcare industry, including work in the not-for-profit, for-profit, private equity, and government sectors.
His primary focus over the last 15 years has been leading financial turnarounds at distressed hospitals, especially those in rural markets. He has specific experience in operating Critical Access Hospitals. Mr. Kobis' expertise includes operations management and performance improvement, distressed asset management, mergers and acquisitions, and system integration.
Mr. Kobis earned his MBA from Ohio State University and a BS in Business Administration from the University of Richmond. He is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) and has served on numerous boards, including the Hospital Associations of New York and Rhode Island. He is also a licensed nursing home administrator in the state of Florida.
